Justyna Kielbowicz is a contemporary photographer born in Poland and based in Ireland. Justyna completed her degree in photography at DIT. She was selected as one of thirteen to exhibit at the RDS Visual Arts Awards. Curated by Alice Maher, these awards showcase the work of emerging talent from the very best graduating Irish artists. Justyna received the A4 Sounds DIT Graduate Award, has exhibited as part of the PhotoIreland Festival 2017 and at South Tipperary Arts Centre.
Justyna’s work playfully invokes feelings of the confusion of reality thus provoking the viewer to question the authenticity of information provided by the media and institutions of authority. She believes that photography can be a guiding light for change, by illuminating and initiating conversations about social, political and environmental concerns.
In her documentary photography, Justyna chronicles events and environments both significant in (and relevant to) history and historical events, as well as those less significant which she perceives as interesting and worth capturing. She currently works as a freelance artist in Dublin where she obsessively photographs at all times, collecting images believing that one day they may form parts of larger projects.
